Terms of Service

• MILCONNECT AI is an informational service. Nothing on the site is legal, financial, medical, or VA-claim advice.
• We are not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Defense, or any branch of the U.S. military.
• Always verify benefit amounts and eligibility with VA.gov or an accredited Veterans Service Officer (VSO).
• You keep ownership of anything you upload. You give us a limited license to operate the Service for you.
• You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account. We can suspend accounts that violate these terms.

By accessing or using milconnect.ai (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”) and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service. If you're using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By creating an account, you confirm that the information you provide is truthful and that you have the legal authority to agree to these Terms.

• Keep your password and any OAuth-provider credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account.
• Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
• You may have only one personal account. Don't register on behalf of someone else without their permission.
• You can delete your account at any time. See the Privacy Policy for the deletion process.

MILCONNECT AI offers:

• Interactive calculators and guides covering VA disability, retirement pay, BAH, GI Bill, TRICARE, state benefits, and 40+ related topics.
• An AI assistant that answers questions about military benefits.
• A document Record Keeper that stores documents you upload and runs AI-assisted analysis on request.
• The VTS Duffle Bag — 22 tools focused on military spouses (PCS planning, MyCAA, MSEP, SCRA, TRICARE for families, and more).
• Notes, todos, and saved action items tied to your account.

Tools are added, modified, or retired as content is updated. Calculation engines (compensation rates, pay tables, etc.) are refreshed when we publish new data, but they may not reflect the most recent VA cost-of-living adjustments or DoD pay tables instantly. Always verify the figure that matters with the official source before relying on it.

Everything on the Service is provided for general informational purposes only. It is not professional advice and you should not rely on it as a substitute for consultation with a qualified professional.

Specifically:

• Calculator outputs are estimates. Your actual VA rating, retirement pay, or BAH is determined exclusively by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Defense Finance and Accounting Service, or your servicing finance office.
• Eligibility determinations require an authoritative review. Use our guides as a starting point, then verify with VA.gov, DFAS, or an accredited Veterans Service Officer (VSO).
• Mental-health information is not a substitute for clinical care. If you or someone you know is in crisis, call 988 (press 1 for Veterans Crisis Line) or text 838255.
• State-specific benefits are summarized for orientation. State law changes regularly — confirm with the relevant state agency before acting.

The chat assistant and document analysis features use artificial intelligence (Anthropic's Claude API). AI output:

• May be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date.
• Should be treated as a starting point, not a final answer.
• Does not establish a legal, fiduciary, or therapeutic relationship.

We design the assistant to point you to our tools and to authoritative sources, and we cap the topics it will discuss to military benefits and adjacent topics. Treat its output the way you would treat a knowledgeable friend's notes — useful context, not a substitute for the official process.

MILCONNECT AI is an independent service operated by a private veteran-led team. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by:

• The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
• The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD)
• The Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS)
• Any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces
• Any Veterans Service Organization (VSO)

Trademarks, names, and logos referenced on the Service (TRICARE, GI Bill, DD-214, etc.) are property of their respective owners. We use these names only to describe the benefits and processes we help you navigate.

“Your Content” includes documents you upload, notes you write, todos and action items you create, ratings you submit, and chat messages you send.

• You retain ownership of Your Content. We don't claim it.
• You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, transmit, and process Your Content solely to operate the Service for you (e.g., display documents in your Record Keeper, run AI analysis you request, save notes for retrieval).
• You represent that you have the right to upload Your Content and that doing so doesn't violate any law or third-party right.
• Don't upload other people's sensitive documents without their permission.
• The license terminates when you delete the content or your account.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to commit fraud, including filing false claims with the VA or any other agency.
• Upload content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, harassing, or that violates someone else's privacy.
• Reverse-engineer the Service, bypass rate limits, or attempt to access another user's account or data.
• Scrape the Service or republish substantial portions of our content without written permission.
• Use the Service to generate or distribute spam, malware, or phishing attempts.
• Use the Service in a way that interferes with its operation for other users.
• Use the AI assistant or document analysis to generate content that violates Anthropic's usage policies (which we incorporate by reference for those features).

Three core tools (VA Disability Calculator, Retirement Pay Calculator, State Benefits Comparison) and the VSO Guide are free and available without an account. The remaining tools, the AI assistant, the Record Keeper, and saved progress require a free account.

We may introduce paid features in the future. If we do, we'll clearly mark them, give existing users notice before any change to current functionality, and never silently move a free feature behind a paywall without notice.

The Service relies on third-party providers (AWS, MongoDB Atlas, Anthropic, Cloudflare, Google, LinkedIn). We disclose them in the Privacy Policy. The Service may also link to third-party websites (e.g., VA.gov, state agency pages). We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content.

All software, design, copy, calculator logic, and original content on the Service are owned by MILCONNECT AI or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.

The MILCONNECT name and logo are our trademarks. You may not use them without prior written permission. Names of government agencies, programs, and benefits remain the property of their respective owners.

• You may stop using the Service or delete your account at any time, no questions asked.
• We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the safety of our users.
• If we terminate your account for cause, we'll let you know unless legally prohibited.
• Sections that by their nature should survive termination (your content license while data is being deleted, IP, disclaimers, liability limits, governing law) survive.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.”

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy of calculator results, and uninterrupted operation. We don't guarantee that AI output is correct, that calculator results match what the VA, DFAS, or any other authority will determine, or that the Service will be free of bugs or downtime.

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or loss of business, arising from or related to the Service.
• Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100) or (b) the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the claim arose.
• These limits apply even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages and even if a stated remedy fails its essential purpose.
• Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to the maximum extent permitted in your jurisdiction.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold MILCONNECT AI and its operators harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of (a) your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or applicable law, (b) Your Content, or (c) your violation of any third party's rights.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. The U.N. Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

For any dispute arising out of or related to the Service or these Terms, you and we agree first to attempt to resolve it informally by contacting us at legal@milconnect.ai. If we can't resolve it within 60 days, the dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you and we consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive or other equitable relief in the courts identified above to prevent infringement of intellectual property rights.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the “Effective” date at the top of this page and post a notice on the homepage and inside the dashboard for at least 14 days before the changes take effect. For changes that are materially adverse to you, we'll request your acceptance the next time you sign in. If you don't agree, you can stop using the Service at any time.

• Entire agreement: these Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
• Severability: if any provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
• Waiver: our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
• Assignment: you may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
• Headings: for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
• No third-party beneficiaries: these Terms create no rights for any third party.
